The Yankton Police Department works to safeguard lives and property, maintain law and order, and preserve peace through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It operates administration, communication and support units. The department s K-9 division undertakes narcotic detection, apprehension, tracking, building searches and evidence recovery.
