Yankee Boat Yard & Marina, Inc is a full service boat yard and marina located along the Connecticut River in Portland, CT. Our location has a long history as a boat building operation in the early 1920's and 30's, and as a boat yard from that time up until the present. The current management has been in place since the early 1970's when the Meehl family acquired the facility. At that time, Yankee Boat Yard & Marina was under the leadership of Joe Meehl. Joe's son, Abe, is an active partner in the business today, and has worked at Yankee for nearly 30 years. The other active partners are Ron Bourbeau, his son, Dean, and Josh Bombaci. Ron Bourbeau became active in Yankee Boat Yard & Marina in the early 1980's, and has been instrumental in expanding and enhancing the services that are offered here at our facility today. Ron is our Chairman of the Board of Directors and manages the team. Dean Bourbeau joined the company in the late 1980's and manages its marine painting and fiberglass repair division. Abe manages the yard, and Josh manages the Mechanical Department. Jon Hipsher helps out with corporate finance, Scott Moore runs our Ship's store, Jake Bean is our Service Writer, Patti Nelson our Office Manager, and Trish Pelletier is our bookkeeper. Today, Yankee Boat Yard & Marina has approximately 75 slips along the river and can accommodate up to 40 boats on floating dock & ball moorings for our summer boaters. We also have the capacity to store up to 400 boats on land during the winter. We have 20, 000 s.f. of indoor cold storage and 15, 000 s.f. of indoor heated storage. We have new spacious state-of-the-art facilities for our Mechanical, Paint & Fiberglass Repair, Woodworking, Welding & Metal Fabrication shops. We have a parts department and a fully stocked ship's store on site to service the needs of our marine customers. Frank Martin heads up our ship's store. Anything you might not see in stock see Frank and he will get it for you the next day. Our service employees undergo continuing education programs to keep up with the on going technological advances of the boating industry. We are an authorized Volvo and Mercruiser dealer for gas and diesel engines. During the summer boating season we have a full service gas dock including diesel fuel, and a mobile pump out station. We have 50 amp, 220 power and water throughout the yard, and some of our docking system has cable access. We now offer Wifi service on our entire docking system for internet access!!
