Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Sambo X3 Sports offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) classes incorporating Russian Sambo and other submission grappling techniques. Our GI and No-GI Jiu Jitsu / Sambo classes are sanctioned by Helio Soneca to teach under the Gracie name. Whether you want to train in Jiu Jitsu for competition or simply to learn the martial art, our expert black belt instructors will help you reach your goals. X3 Sports Jiu Jitsu classes can be taken as an individual discipline or as part of our Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training program. Tony has been a top instructor for over 10 years. A black belt in both Brazillian Jiu Jitsu as well as Russian Sambo, Tony trained under the Gokor Academy. With over 40 professional MMA fights, as well as international grappling titles to his name, Tony applies his experience to coach both advanced level competitors and beginners alike. His approach is very hands on and technical, while keeping training sessions fun and intense at the same time. Tony's students have gone on to become National grappling champions and he has molded numerous amateur fighters into undefeated pro fighters and title holders who have gone on to fight in the UFC and IFL. A black belt and native of Brazil, Ranieri makes his way to X3 Sports via Helio Soneca, founder of Gracie Barra. Prior to X3 Sports, he was an instructor at the Wolfslayer Academy in Liverpool where his students have gone on to fight in the UFC. Ranieri is both a fierce competitor, holding titles in multiple national (UK, Brazilian) & international competitions; as well as a great instructor. He has coached students both to their black belt rank as well as placement at world competitions, but he is equally as skilled at teaching the basics to new students as well as children. Taught in conjunction with submission grappling, while encompassing its self defense techniques, Sambo is known for its crippling leg locks and various neck cranks. These techniques were emphasized by the Russian military with the theory in mind that one crippled soldier would require two other soldiers to carry him, thus removing three soldiers from battle.
