WRHU is the campus FM radio station of Hofstra University. In addition to a variety of music programming, the station puts special emphasis on news and sports programming created with student broadcasters. WRHU covers baseball, football, basketball and other Hofstra sports and sends its sportscasters on the road with the teams. The station s broadcast journalists have won numerous reporting awards including a 2006 Hearst award and two Folio awards from the Fair Media Council of Long Island, N.Y. Hofstra University is a private school offering more than 130 undergraduate and 140 graduate programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, communication, education and allied human services and sonors studies, as well as a School of Law. Hofstra offers students the opportunity to live and learn on a 240-acre campus on Long Island with easy access to the academic, cultural and career opportunities of the New York City metropolitan area.
