Why another Dojo - why Women of Ruffhouse and why now? Let me first say we are not here to show you Katas, or dress you in a Gi and then assure you that within six to eight months we will see if you have earned the right to successfully train for another level within that belt. This seems to be the direction of your typical Martial Arts Dojo of today, however here at Women of Ruffhouse our goal and focus is to teach you how to remove yourself from a situation or scenario from your first class. Ladies understand one simple thought process - You CAN defend yourself and get away from an attacker, no matter his or her size. There are principles and tactics that are shown here at Women of Ruffhouse that show you that you are stronger than you think. We teach you to react without thought, techniques that are quick and fast. We will teach you how to use whatever you have to protect yourself at all times, and if necessary supply you with small choices that can help assure you a break away moment. Empowerment Fitness - Self Defense taken and shown with a twist. That is our goal to show you and to teach you that you are much stronger than you think you are. That yes you can be a survivor and change the the outcome if you ever find yourself in a precarious situation. We are also here to have some fun through our other classes as well. So, with all that said come out and take a look inside. Ask some questions to our Sensei and staff. Join us during our Open House periods and get a feel for what we are and what we do. Clear your mind of the excuses that keep you bound to doing nothing or feel that this could never happen to you so you don't need to learn "how to escape or fight back" - and above all else never tell yourself "you can't fight back he is to big for me to defend myself". Learn that You Can and You Will!
