The Williams Companies Inc. is an integrated natural gas company founded in 1908. The firm produces, gathers, processes and transports clean-burning natural gas to heat homes and power electric generation across the United States. Currently its operations are concentrated in the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, Gulf Coast, Eastern Seaboard, and the province of Alberta in Canada. The company's capabilities include approximately 1.2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas production in the United States and abroad, over 8,500 miles of gas gathering lines, deep-water infrastructure, approximately 14,600 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline and gas pipeline design capacity of more than 11 billion cubic feet per day, among others. The Williams Companies Inc. operates primarily through its four major business segments, such as the Exploration and Production, Gas Pipeline, Midstream Gas and Liquids and Gas Marketing Services.
