West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation, also known as WKRECC, serves more than 35,000 members with over 3,500 miles of lines in Calloway, Carlisle, Graves, Marshall, Hickman and Livingston counties in Kentucky. Founded in 1938, the cooperative provides a budget billing plan for members who have lived at their present locations for nearly 12 months. It offers electric grills and smokers and conducts a surge protection program. The cooperative also offers scholarships for graduating high school seniors and paid trips for high school juniors. It additionally manages an emergency utility fund that helps individuals pay their electricity bills. West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation receives its power from the Tennessee Valley Authority and is a member of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association.
