A PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED, ALL VOLUNTEER organization of your neighbors dedicated to serving their community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Mechanicsburg Fire Department consisting of the volunteer members of both the Washington fire Company No. 1 and the Citizens Fire & Rescue #2, has been protecting our community for over 150 years, saving YOU and your neighbors thousands of dollars in taxes. Both fire companies are 100% volunteer No one receives any pay for their time and hard work. We have achieved an ISO Rating of 3 THE BEST rating an all-volunteer fire service can receive. This reduces your insurance costs. Check with your agent on your rates. Our Volunteer members are the most critical part of each fire company. Every member is professionally trained to possess the skills needed to perform their job. These volunteers are your friends and neighbors. You probably know some of them and you know they care about you and your family. We are always looking for new members who are ready to step up to the plate and give back to their community. You do not have to fight fire to be a member. Your volunteer fire service protects the heart and soul of our community. Your help either financially or by joining one of the fire companies is needed now. Please consider contributing $1.00 a week ( $52 ) or more to support your volunteers.
