Volusia County Public Works oversees planning, organization and implementation of various types of maintenance projects. Located in DeLand, Fla., the department provides a wide variety of services for civil and traffic engineering, sewers, streets, solid waste, fleet, storm drains and recycling. Open Monday through Friday, its building services division provides maintenance and repair services for city-owned buildings, and offers technical support and assistance to departments in facility construction. The department s engineering division offers various services, including surveying, geoprocessing updates, project inspections, drafting, and building permit reviews. Additionally, it provides 24-hour emergency services and general engineering information to citizens and other city departments.
