Union Chill Mat Company was incorporated in 1946. The Original product was the "chill mat" which was used in the steel mills to help cool the steel after it was produced.Realizing the vulnerability of a single product line, the company developed and manufacturered the famous Red Rocket heater. The Red Rocket is a radiant spot heater that has been a mainstay in steel mills. Its 360' radiant radiant heat helps heat the workers without heating objects in the mills.The Clayton Fan also was designed and incorporated into the UCMC line to furnish steel mills with heavy-duty industrial man-cooler fans. Its heavy-duty design helps circulate the air as well as cool portions of the mills.
