The Washington State Department of Transportation is responsible for protecting and preserving the state s public-use general aviation airports. It operates a finance and administration division that handles engineering publications, forms and materials management. The department works to preserve more than 7,000 centerline miles of highways and over 3,000 bridges and ramps.
