Newly in public hands, this is the world's largest 7.5 inch railway. Run by volunteers this is a place you go to ride trains, learn to operate trains, operate railbikes and volunteer with a myriad of chores that keep this high altitude forest and playground in amazing condition. Volunteers at the Klamath & Western RR on one corner provide rides to the public by donation - so that's an easy way to dip your toes in the water. The much larger playground has over 30 miles of rail. You join a club and bring your own equipment. Soon you'll be able to rent rail bikes for easy access.
