The Virginian is a private, nonprofit, nondenominational continuing care retirement community located in Fairfax, Va. Established in 1980, it is situated on more than 30 acres and features a variety of services and facilities designed to meet the needs of seniors. Its goal is to enable seniors to maintain an active, independent lifestyle and also receive assistance with the activities of daily living. Its comprehensive medical care team includes physicians and registered nurses, geriatric psychiatrist and psychologist and dental care. Supportive services include rehabilitative services to assist patients with physical, cognitive, psychosocial and communication impairments, reminders to take medications, housekeeping and laundry, health and wellness programs and scheduled transportation.
