General Info:
In 1997 My Wife and I, Well actually it started with my Dad. He was getting near retirement, and thought to purchase his ?last? truck. He had heard of this new bedliner?Rhino Linings, it was a fairly new product back then, but he decided it would be a lot better than the traditional plastic liner for him. Turned out that he liked it so much he thought he would get into the business on a part time basis to supplement his retirement income. Rhino Linings is not a part time type of operation and my carrer was getting stale after the ten years i had spent there, so i thought ? Hey we can go into business together.?
One thing leads to another and My Brother opens the franchise in Horry County, Rhino Linings of Myrtle Beach, and i get the franchise in Greenville County, Rhino Linings of Greenville. My father bounced back and forth helping us both. That was a very exciting year. I think the very first month, both shops combined shot 7 whole trucks.
We had intention of being stand alone Rhino Linings shops, but quickly discovered we would need to expand into truck accessories. I bought a set of vent visors and a bug shield, hung them on the wall, and we were a truck accessories shop.
My Family has gone through many ups and downs in business over the last 15 years, I think that the second year my brothers shop was open we had 4 hurricanes come through Myrtle Beach, and we eventually had to shut down the franchise. This was a negative time in our lives to be sure, but our family is dedicated to each other and supports each other as best we can. My Dad still lives in South Carolina, My Brother went back to school and works in South Carolina as well, and as far as Lori and I, well we kept plugging along with Rhino Linings of Greenville.
We changed the name and logo to The Mix Truck Accessories back in 2005 and moved into a bigger location. In fact three times the size of the original Rhino Linings Shop. I brought on a great mechanic, and he is still with me, and together we started moving into Lift kits, Diesel Performance, and many areas of the accessory side of things that i could not have done alone. I sit and type this ?about us page? just a few months shy of our 15th anniversary, There has been many ups and downs, there have been times of great joy where the business did well and we were able to attend SEMA and travel to different events, and there have been times when i thought, ?Man we are not going to make it? We have suffered through 911, and Katrina and the collapse in ?09? right along side our neighbors. We have shopped in Greenville and supported our community, and you guys have supported us. I have to say that through it all, the ethics that were taught to me by my parents, and the Love of God have seen us through and continue to guide us now. Lori and I are not perfect, and we continue to fall short every day, but we base our lives on the biblical foundation that teaches Christ Jesus as the Savior, that gives us all hope for the future. That is the message that i want you to know ?about us?.
Two things: Love your God with all your mind soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
In looking forward to the future i see good things, we are moving into a new year with a new focus, a more community driven type of 4 wheel drive shop. Stay tuned. You never know where God is going to lead you.
