Family owned Bowdil Company located in Canton, Ohio began manufacturing coal-mining equipment in 1923. Newton K. Bowman helped establish Bowdil after patenting a coal cutting bit that was lighter and stayed sharp longer than conventional carbon steel bits.Before retiring, Bowman received 125 patents mostly pertaining to the coal mining industry. Bowdil has grown to included products useful in mining such minerals as Potash, Salt, Trona and Gypsum.While manufacturing products, Bowdil maintains high standards for design, parts and labor. With our on site Heat Treat facility, we insure that our products receive quality and consistent Heat Treatment.Not only mining , Bowdil offers quality, personalized Machining and Heat Treatment services for companies of all sizes. Our Heat Treat and Machining facility handles the treatment of springs for the local Amish communities horse drawn buggies to technical jobs for the aerospace industry.
