On May 5, 1948, Clyde Wesley Taylor and Thomas William Sanderson of Kinston, NC purchased Blackwood Associates Store in Clinton, NC. In 1950 the partnership was renamed Taylor & Sanderson a complete line of Crosby appliances were added. When Crosby announced it was closing in 1957, Taylor & Sanderson added Whirlpool Appliances. In 1965 they added RCA electronics. Taylor and Sanderson are credited as one of the oldest Whirlpool dealers in North Carolina and the oldest appliance dealer in Clinton. Since the beginning the store has been a family run business. After the death of Mr. Sanderson, Clyde Wesley and his wife Arlene formed a partnership. Alongside three of their children, they have sold appliances and electronics to Sampson County and the surrounding areas for three generations. During this time they started selling furniture, flooring, and home entertainment systems. After the death of Clyde Wesley Taylor in 2002, the stores ownership changed to his three sons Ricky, Randy, and Robert. Taylor and Sanderson became Taylor and Sanderson Co, Inc. It is truly a family oriented business. Our Mission is to provide the best value with all that we sell in Clinton and the surrounding area. Our inventory consists of appliances, furniture, bedding, and flooring as well as appliance and electronics service. We will provide the highest level of service possible to our customers, at all levels of our operation, to help them achieve the home environment they desire. While always focusing on our customers, we wish to provide an environment for our employees that is fair, supportive, and that provides an opportunity for them to achieve their own personal goals.
