Steve is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and has been in the Comprehensive Wealth Management Industry for ten years. Steve brings a comprehensive analytical depth to the industry borne from twenty-five years of financial management experience. Steve is not a sales person that has been trained to sell financial products. His background displays a succession of finance positions that have developed him into a trusted and seasoned financial planner and problem solver. Years of working in private industry have also developed Steve into a professional that fully understands economic events with an ability to communicate the meaning of those events to the clients of Darden Financial. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA, major in Finance and minor in Accounting in 1983, Steve began working for Texas Instruments in various positions from 1983 - 1993, ultimately as Financial Planning Manager for the laptop computer and laser printer division, a division with annual sales of $1 billion. Steve then left Texas Instruments to become Chief Financial Officer of Mosley Machinery Company in Waco, TX, and held that position from 1993 1995. After serving as CFO of Mosley for just over two years, Steve was recruited by Mosley Machinerys largest competitor, Harris Waste Management Group, Inc., headquartered in Peachtree City, GA., and accepted a position as Vice President of Finance, Information Systems, and Human Resources. In 1998, Steve had the opportunity to move his family back to his home town of Marshall, TX, when he was recruited by NORIT Americas, Inc. (NAI), and accepted a position as their Corporate Controller and Corporate Officer. During his time working for NAI, Steve also served on the Board of Directors of two subsidiaries of NORIT, Clarimex, Inc., located in Mexico City and Brascarbo, located in Guarapuava, Brazil. Throughout his financial management career, Steve always had a keen interest in economic events in general, and with how those events related to investments specifically.
