The New York State Police, established in 1917, is a full-service law enforcement agency that maintains various specialized units, such as aviation, bomb disposal, K-9, marine, bicycle and snowmobile patrol, mobile response, motorcycle and scuba. Headquartered in Albany, N.Y., the New York State Police is accredited by the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council.
