General Info:

History: In the late 1930's Dean Spencer and George Wolff developed an area and created an airstrip and hangar facility and it was named "Bow Lake Airport". Dean made the first landing at the fledgling airfield in 1940 in his Taylorcraft. After the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, the United States entered WWII and all private flying was stopped within 150 miles of the Pacific Coast. George and Dean went off to become military pilots.  During the war, the Port of Seattle decided it needed an airport to supplement Boeing Field and purchased the Bow Lake Airport which has since become Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.  When the war ended, Dean and George formed Spencer Aircraft to go into the aircraft parts business. The company has grown steadily since.
