Founded in 1971, Southeastern District Health Department offers family and community and environmental health services and health promotion programs. Its family and community health services include information on community health nursing, child find program, prenatal ancillary care, reproductive health, women s health check, and Women s, Infant s and Children s (WIC) programs. The department s environmental health division contains programs and services, such as childcare inspection, drinking water and food safety, and on-site sewage disposal permitting and inspection. In addition, Southeastern District Health Department s health promotion division deals with many programs, such as asthma, diabetes, epidemiology and communicable diseases, injury prevention, oral health, and tobacco cessation and education.
