After the test, the Audiologist will explain to you the type and degree of any hearing loss you have. If you show a pattern of hearing loss that may be correctable by medical or surgical means, you will be referred to a physician who specializes in diseases of the ear, or to your primary care physician. Only 5% to 10% of adult hearing problems are medically or surgically treatable If your problem cannot be medically or surgically treated, the audiologist will discuss with you the best type of hearing aids for your hearing loss. Once the evaluation is completed, the audiologist can provide you with the recommended hearing aids.
