Founded by Joanne and Julius Shaw in 1976, The Coffee Beanery is a privately held company that franchises and supports a network of upscale cafes, retail stores, carts and kiosks that specialize in serving the finest specialty Arabica coffee. The Coffee Beanery began franchising in 1985, and has more than 200 locations nationwide and in Guam. The company began international expansion in 2001 in Korea, and most recently in China and Qatar. The company s corporate headquarters and production facility are located in Flushing, Mich. This facility is where hand-selected beans are roasted, flavored and packaged. It is also the company s warehousing and distribution center.
