General Info:
Environmental Testing Corporation Environmental Testing Corporation (ETC) is a complete high altitude vehicle and engine emission testing laboratory serving automotive manufacturers, engine manufacturers, suppliers, the petrol chemical industry, and the research community. ETC opened for business in 1979. In 1997, a 40, 000 square foot (3716 square meter) laboratory was built on a five acre site in Aurora, Colorado, approximately 5, 437 feet (1657 meter) above sea level. The building contains five vehicle chassis dynamometer laboratories, two engine test cells, four evaporative emissions test fixtures, a vehicle refueling emissions enclosure, and a state-of-the-art fuel storage and distribution system all designed to comply with current and future EPA test procedures. Parking for large fleets of vehicles is possible in the spacious and secured outdoor lot. The facility incorporates automated security and access control, which help maintain customer privacy without cumbersome roadblocks that inhibit productivity. Worksite features include an automated fuel dispensing and accounting system, automated gates, electronic door controls and monitors, and security cameras. The ETC facility has an extensive infrastructure for air and fluid conditioning. Refrigeration, heating, chilled water, steam, compressed air, and vacuum systems are located throughout the building. This equipment is used to support standard test operations and to simulate extreme environmental conditions year round. Abundant electrical service is available for the operation of high voltage electrical devices such as regenerative dynamometers, blowers, compressors, and solar loading panels.
