Park’s impressive fashion pedigree, coupled with a keen interest in colors and timeless shapes, led to the unique creation. Named for New York City “SEONIE PARC NEW YORK” has been inspired by the vibrancy of the city. The bags reflect the adventure and grandeur of the city. The innovation and creativity that are the lifeblood of New York fashion have been infused into the collection. Park has looked to exotic architecture, fashion and modern art for inspiration, integrating avant-garde color and shapes. Inspired by artists from Georgia O’Keeffe for her enlarged shapes and mix of colors to Frank Gehry for his unexpected shapes and sense of fun to Mark Jacobs for his playful designs “SEONIE PARC NEW YORK” represents women today, full of life and energy. These influences are reflected through her personal style and are key ingredients in the “SEONIE PARC NEW YORK” collection. This has culminated in a line of unique and stylish bags that are pieces of artwork and also handbags. Park wants to give women a beautiful accessory they can carry everyday. Sunyoung Park was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and currently resides in the United States. She has worked in the fashion industry for many years, working for private label companies including several handbag designers. She has gained first hand knowledge of the industry, allowing her to fully understand the commercial aspect of this business and how to design something that is truly marketable. After working as a freelance designer for many years, she decided to design her own collection. Beginning with handbags, Sunyoung Park has built a brand that represents beauty and practicality. Today, she is lead designer of “SEONIE PARC NEW YORK”. The “SEONIE PARC NEW YORK” collection continues to flourish and expand since its launch in 2007.
