The Parks Operations Division of the city of Salem, Ore., is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of a park system comprised of parks, trails and open space areas. It manages 1,000-plus-acres of land that encompasses more than 20 miles of trails and over 100 park and open space areas. The division s services include grounds maintenance, plant bed care, irrigation, and building and facility maintenance and repair. It also provides planting, watering and pruning services for street and park trees. The Parks Operations Division also provides property management, grant writing, and landscape plan reviewing and inspection services. Additionally, it designs and develops plans of future park sites.
