It provides initial attack aircraft services to more than 15,000 square miles of private, state and federally owned land. The base s fleet features tankers and helicopters and offers wild land fire suppression services. Ryan Air Attack Base is a part of the Riverside County Fire Department, which provides firefighting and emergency medical services. The Riverside County Fire Department features fire engines, ambulances and squad cars. It maintains a staff of paramedic personnel who are trained in the areas of cardiac, trauma and pediatric life support. The department operates several facilities, including fire stations, conservation camps and automotive shops.
