Rummel Industries - Company HistoryThe history of Rummel Industries began in 1928 when Henry Rummel established Rummel Fibre Company in a modest facility in Newark, New Jersey. At the time Henry launched his saw cutting and machining operation plastics were still a relatively new area of industry but it was not entirely unknown to him. Henry had experience working for other companies in the field and he anticipated the impact this industry was to have in the years to come. It was from this perspective that Henry was able to see the opportunity that lay before him in starting his own business, and that the success of that business would depend on his ability to differentiate himself from his competition. Henry accomplished this task through his commitment to quality, both in the products that Rummel Fibre manufactured and through the services it offered. This commitment to quality, started over seventy five years ago, would serve as the basis for the company's emerging values and would help shape its identity in the years to come.Starting a business on what would become the eve of the Great Depression made the early years especially crucial for the fledgling company, but through Henry's guidance and the hard work and support of his staff the company persevered. Increases in staff and sales continued over the years so that by the 1950's the company had outgrown its building in Newark and it was time for a move.
