Founded by Donald E. Rowe, Rowe Furniture began manufacturing upholstered rocking chairs in a facility built to house World War II prisoners of war. With two facilities, located in Elliston, Va., and Poplar Bluff, Mo., Rowe Furniture produces special order upholstry with lifetime warranties on all of its frames, cushions, springs and mechanisms. Using teamwork and employee benefit sharing plans, Rowe Furniture has been able to grow while maintaining product value. Operating in a people business, Rowe employees at remain in contact with suppliers and customers, not only in the United States, but throughout the world. While Rowe furniture is manufactured in the U.S., it products are found throughout the world. Rowe Furniture is a division of the Rowe Companies, and is headquartered in Elliston. One of the company s subsidiary branches is located in Lafayette, Va.
