Putnam High School is a college preparatory school that maintains a variety of academic departments, such as English, fine arts, science, social studies, foreign languages, health and physical education, and business and technology studies. It provides coaching and training in a variety of athletic activities, such as basketball, volleyball, baseball, cheerleading, and track and field. Putnam High School has a staff of more than 60 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes nurses, special educators, guidance counselors, psychologists, athletic directors, classroom teachers, art and music professionals, and health and physical education instructors. The school is a part of the Putnam School District, which serves nearly 1,200 students in three schools. Located in Putnam, Conn., Putnam High School teaches over 300 students in grades 9 through 12.
