Prevashini (Alisha) Pillay is a graduate of the University of South Florida. She graduated within the top ten percent of her graduating class with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Alisha received recognition for her academic excellence and integrity of character by invitation to The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi as well as The Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International. Alisha obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing from Polk Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida before pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida with a specialization in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care. Before pursuing a career in advanced practice nursing, Alisha was a Registered Nurse at Lakeland Regional Medical Center for seven years. Alisha worked on the Acute Care Surgical Unit taking care of the preoperative and postoperative patient population requiring surgical interventions for varied acute and chronic conditions. Through her experience as an acute care surgical nurse, Alisha brings extensive nursing experience caring for patients requiring preoperative and postoperative care of the cervical and lumbar spine. Alisha is recognized as a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse which was achieved through examination and validates her commitment to excellence in medical-surgical nursing practice. In addition, Alisha holds current memberships with the professional organizations American Association of Nurse Practitioners as well as the American Nurses Association. Alisha has been a resident of Florida since 1998. Alisha enjoys reading, spending time with her friends and family, watching movies, traveling, and playing with her rescue dog.
