On the grounds of an old New England farmstead, since its inception in 1967 and under continuous ownership/management, Potter's Place has served an exclusively adult camping clientele as an alternative to the numerous fine family campgrounds available. We offer large, separated, level sites in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. We cater to singles or couples with tents or trailers, honeymooners to retirees, full season or just overnight. The camping area is part of a 150 acre tree farm with an arboretum, perennial gardens, nature trails and a seven acre pond. Other amenities include two rest room buildings, a recreation hall, game room, outdoor game areas and a heated swimming pool. For those seeking an affinity with nature, there is a wide variety of native trees and wildlife ' a haven for bird watching. If looking for just a restful break, one can count on being undisturbed whether retiring early or choosing to sleep in late. Located between Sanford, ME and Rochester, NH ' just 20 miles to Maine's ocean coastline and 30 miles to New Hampshire's mountain/lake region ' an hour drive to Portland, ME and less than two to downtown Boston. Reservations accepted but not required. May 1 through October 15.
