Located in Golden Valley, Minn., the Golden Valley Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that has been operational for more than 50 years. It preserves peace and order, prevents and detects crime, apprehends offenders, and protects residents lives and property. The Golden Valley Police Department employs a staff of over 40 full- and part-time sworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. The department maintains a crime prevention unit that maintains constant communication with the community through surveys, public forums, radio and other service groups. The Golden Valley Police Department operates the Emergency Response Team (ERT), which deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including barricaded persons, high-risk warrant arrests, explosive devices and heavily armed criminals.
