Planned Parenthood is a chain of more than 95 independent affiliates across the United States. It has national offices in New York City and Washington, D.C. The chain s centers provide a range of birth control, HIV and pregnancy testing, vaccination, women s health, and abortion and related referral services. Its health care centers specialize in testing and treating a range of infections, including bacterial vaginosis, Chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis and trichomoniasis. Planned Parenthood s centers additionally offer female condoms, dental dams and hepatitis B vaccines to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. It is a part of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), which is one of the leading sexual and reproductive health care advocates and providers in the United States. The parent company operates over 880 health centers nationwide. Its international program addresses challenges, including sexual violence and sexually transmitted infections through projects in nearly 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It supports local organizations, health care providers and advocates in Benin, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Nepal, and the Philippines. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is also a founding member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
