Placer Buddhist Church Placer Buddhist Church ( PBC ) is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect of Buddhism, affiliated with the Buddhist Churches of America. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills east of Sacramento, California, PBC was founded in 1902 and currently has nearly 300 members. The resident minister is Reverend Tesshi Aoyama. Rev. Aoyama is also the supervising minister to the Reno Howakai.
