Parkland Baptist Church is located in Clovis, New Mexico, at 921 Parkland Dr.. We are right in the middle of an incredible community of people. We are thrilled to be a part of what is happening here and hope you will visit!
Lifegroups--a predictable small group environment where participants experience authentic community and spiritual growth.
We have found that some unchurched people are more open to connecting in a home than they are willing to visit a church. Some want to belong before they are willing to believe.
Group strategy give us many shepherds in our church, not just a few. This allows us to spread out the leadership and care responsibilities to the places where it happens best, with the people to whom others have connected well. We have found that people are naturally cared for best by those who know them best; those they are walking through life with.
The predictability of a group is defined by who the participants can expect to be attending their group . Our groups do not have revolving doors. The reason we are so protective is because we believe relationships take time to form. Anything that gets in the way of building the relational momentum of a group works against this reality. When groups frequently change, they rip a plank right out of that relational foundation. So, once a group is formed, we keep the doors closed for a season (15-18 months)
These groups meet once a week. Most meet Sunday afternoon because the church provides childcare at no charge at that time. Others meet any given evening of the week, as well as maybe a day group during the week for those who'd rather not drive in the evenings. Many different studies take place, according to needs and desires of each group. Some groups cover Bible characters, some study a particular book of the Bible, some may have a couple's enrichment study, others may learn about worship, God's will, foundational truths, character, or being a part of God's plan.
