Paragon Cycling is owned by Raymond and Jolea Kidd. Ray was born in Phoenix and raised in Mesa, while Jolea was born in San Diego and her family moved to Mesa when she was two. Both went to school In Mesa and graduated from Mesa High School. Ray and Jolea have extensive business backgrounds, Ray in the printing business for 30 years, the last 24 at a Scottsdale company where he was vice president, and Jolea in the financial field for 25 years. Currently she is an executive at Avnet, Inc, a $15 billion, Fortune 500 company. Ray's background in cycling is a long one and started with his first push from his father on a bike that was a birthday present at the age of five. Since that start, he has commuted to and from schools and a job that was 25 miles each way. He occasionally races as an amateur in USCF sponsored events as a Master 50 . All mechanical duties are handled by Ray and his son Travis along with Kevin Riseborough. Occasionally Ray's other son, Jason, comes in to help out. Ray's mechanical skills come from early training with his father on the family cars, through his amateur drag racing days rebuilding engines and drive trains, to building his own bikes from the frame on up. Additionally, Ray went to United Bicycle Institute, a highly acclaimed professional bike mechanics school in Oregon and received the professional mechanics certificate. We started Paragon to encourage everyone to discover the joy of cycling and share our excitement for this healthy lifestyle and sport. We look forward to helping you with your cycling needs, whether it's general information, giving honest opinions or recommendations on specific product, providing a quick adjustment, servicing your current bike or selling you a new one.
