Established in 1980. Before bringing their expertise to Houston, the Taghdisi family had been working in the rug industry for generations. In fact, Oriental Rug BazaarÂ’s current owner, Alan Taghdisi, is the son of the businessÂ’s founder, Massoud Taghdisi, and the seventh generation to carry on the family tradition. The Taghdisi family descends from the prominent rug merchant Haji Borujerdi, who famously commissioned the building of the Borujerdi-Ha House in Kashan, Iran. The House is no longer a private residence, but a museum, testament to the Taghdisi familyÂ’s skill and world-renowned reputation.
Meet the Business Owner: Alan Taghdisi
Alan, the seventh generation member of the Taghdisi family, serves as President of Oriental Rug Bazaar and is dedicated to bringing world-class rugs to Houston, TX. He is pictured below with his wife, Anooshea, while in attendance at a cocktail party honoring the new medical director of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center: Gastroenterology. Alan is dedicated to staying involved in the important Houston Medical community. During September of last year, he supported the efforts of the Texas Children's Pavilion for Women.
