Okuma America Corporation is the American affiliate of the Okuma Corporation of Japan. The parent company, the Okuma Corporation, is a worldwide provider in computer numeric controls and machining technology. Okuma America Corporation provides manufacturing solutions to Western Hemisphere customers through a configure-to-order manufacturing process and rapid deployment team. Both processes are designed to customize products to a customer's specific needs. Okuma America initially started its operations in Long Island, N.Y., in 1984. It relocated to Charlotte, N.C., in 1987 to begin its manufacturing operations. The Charlotte operation is the headquarters for the manufacturing and training facilities for the North America and South American operations.
