Oakdale has been a major supplier of twines to the agricultural and industrial industries since before the Civil War. The company s twine is recommended by most tying machine manufacturers and is preferred by major mailers throughout the country, including the United States Postal Service. Oakdale s yarns are primarily used for weaving and knitting. Weaving yarns are used for upholstery, narrow fabrics and home furnishings, while knitting yarns are used for cold weather apparel and socks. Oakdale s dye house has been in service since 1896. It produces package dyeing of various fibers, including 100 percent cotton, 100 percent spun polyester, 100 percent rayon and blends of each.
