The Northeast Regional Library, a branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia, offers a collection of books, magazines, films, and art and music items. Founded in 1962, the Northeast Regional Library serves as a research facility for the entire Northeast. The library maintains a collection of more than 150,000 books that is divided into various subject departments. It also operates an archive of periodicals and newspapers. Each department of the library occupies an entire floor and its lowest level includes an auditorium meeting room. In addition, the library maintains a children s department. The Northeast Regional Library offers GED classes and English as a Second Language and after-school programs.
