General Info:

North Coast Container Corporation was founded in December 1983, upon the purchase of the assets of Cortland Container's Cleveland manufacturing facility. In 1986, North Coast purchased The Ohio Corrugating Company of Warren, Ohio from the bankruptcy court. This strategic purchase was engineered to acquire the relatively modern portions of the Warren plant which were installed in 1983. Selections of the Warren plant's equipment were moved and installed in the Cleveland facility as part of a plant upgrade. STC Transportation, a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of North Coast, was formed in 1987 in response to customer demands for guaranteed on-time deliveries. STC stood for "Single Trip Container", which was embossed on the bottom of steel drums at one time. In May 1997 Calig Steel Drum Co. of McKees Rocks, Pa was merged into North Coast Container Corp., the surviving corporation. Portions of the plant equipment were installed in the Cleveland facility. North Coast was a founding member of Containers America, LLC in March 1999. Joining with other independent steel drum manufacturers, Containers America LLC allows North Coast and its partners to work together supplying national contracts with steel containers. North Coast Container's manufacturing plant is located in Cleveland.
