My name is Nita Hazelwood. I am the proud owner and chef of Nita’s Doorstep Catering Company. I recently started this company with one very simple concept. I wanted to share my passion with the world. My passion in life is to cook. Surprisingly enough, that is not a passion that many seem to share with me. It has been a passion of mine for many years now. It perfectly fits with the goals for my life.
One of my most enjoyable past times is cooking. I absolutely love cooking and baking. I am at peace when I'm in the kitchen making a mess and whipping up crazy, but delicious, recipes. I really love to cook for family and friends.
I had no interest in cooking until I met my husband 19 years ago. When we met, I really wanted to impress him, so I decided to make a romantic dinner of lasagna. I never cooked anything before this dish, but it turned out great! Not only was I surprised about how edible it was, but I was also truly shocked that I enjoyed the whole process of cooking. My man was so impressed that he commented that my food should be in a restaurant. Needless to say, I have been cooking anything and everything ever since. I love to spoil my family and friends by making special dishes and surprising them. It makes my day to see someone enjoying something that I made with love. I love to create recipes in my head and then test them out with family and friends. Everyone enjoys the food, and I get to share my passion with the ones I love! I currently create all the meals for all special occasions in our family. Let me clarify family. I have a relatively large home, and 26 plus people show up for occasions as small as the super bowl, and to other occasions as large as Thanksgiving. They totally love it.
My family has been telling me for years that I should start my own business. I have also created some new recipes that have been a hit.
Corona does not have a café that serves southern cuisine. In fact, many people speak have commented to me as to their travels as far as Riverside or Chino, in order to receive a great meal. Well, I would love to change that for the city of Corona. I know that I am going to have a long road ahead of me, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to bring great southern hospitality to Corona, California.
