Recording artist Mr. Smooth, born Wesley L. Murray. Born in Savannah La Mar Westmoreland Jamaica. As a young man Wesley had a passion for music and knew early on in life it was what he wanted to pursue. After finishing high school Wesley took notice of his older brother who was into music promotion. His older brother would promote local talent shows and various concerts. Wesley knew at that time he wanted to play his part and wanted to be in the music business. He started out by going to small parties and would DJ. Now a DJ in Jamaica was not the same as in the USA. When he would DJ it was more like Jamaican hip hop. He would Rhyme over beats with his own original lyrics. At time he had no artist stage name but people in the audience would call him Culture. Wesley took a liking to the name especially being that he was rhyming of Jamaican culture. He then decided to add the word General to the name Culture becoming know as "General Culture" General Culture would go on to gain momentum and popularity and being booked for various local events. In 2002 The decision was made by Wesley to leave Jamaica and head for the USA .A major part for making that decision was his mother. His mother was currently living in Miami Florida and he wanted to be closer to her. Once arriving in Miami he decided to take a break from music as he did not want to continue as what they call in Jamaica a DJ. He wanted to focus on family and learning a new way of life here in the USA. Now living in Orlando FL and after A very long hiatus from music he decided that he wanted to venture back in to music. This time in a different and more meaningful way. Motivated by his youngest son Jevarn who was diagnosed with both Autism and ADHD. Wesley was determined to write songs with positive meaning. He was motivated by his son because though Jevarn is not vocal he would repeat lyrics from his fathers songs as he would rehears them. This was an extremely difficult time for Wesley because he was raising his son Jevarn alone, whose mother abandoned him since he was nine months old. Being a single father with such a young child, Wesley became even more motivated to push on with his passion , which is music. Having a young child who he feared would not be able to speak, or even one day hearing his son say dad, he realized that, the one thing Jevarn responded to was music. Rehearsing and playing music daily, became a way of life for him, and also a way of connecting with his son Jevarn. Not familiar with anyone in the music business in Orlando, Wesley decided to continue writing his new songs anyway. He would also use instrumental beats and production found online to write his songs . He would play the beat on the computer while the web cam was on, and record the live video and tape it. He would listen to it over and over again to make sure it was perfect. As life would have it while sitting on his porch one day, Things came to his mind, he could hear Jevarn repeating a song that he was rehearsing, '' Play Girl''. One day , Wesley met his neighbor Tony G, and realized he was an artist back in the day. He presented to Tony G. with songs he had written and Tony G was very impressed not only with the lyrical content, but also the meaning behind the song. He started recording his first song in the recording studio. After a few studio sessions, Wesley now going by the recording artist name Mr. Smooth decided to focus on developing Mr. Smooth as an artist. He is currently working on the Mr. Smooth debut album with the first single off the album being ''ADHD ECHO BACK'' for his son, Other tracks off the album will include '' Life'', "Play Girl", Mr. Smooth", "Extraordinary Girl", Champion".
