The company was founded in 1953 as Poly-Scientific. In 1992 the company evolved when Clifton Precision and Special Devices were combined with Poly-Scientific to expand operations in Murphy, N.C., and Springfield, Pa. In, 2003, the company was acquired by Moog, a worldwide manufacturer of precision control systems and components. Moog Components Group is headquartered in Springfield, Pa., and maintains an additional manufacturing plant in Murphy, N.C. Its manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 certified according to industry standards.
