Mitchell Elementary School enrolls more than 450 students in grades three through five and offers a variety of educational opportunities for the physical, emotional and mental development of students. Its mathematics program helps students to develop their abilities in problem solving, communication, reasoning and applying mathematical concepts. The school s science curriculum engages students in the studies of science and technology in society, life science, earth science, and physical science. It has a parent-teacher association that organizes several fundraising programs and sponsors school and family activities. The school s library collection includes over 13,000 books and nearly 575 nonprint materials. It subscribes to more than 20 magazines for children and over 15 for the professional staff. Mitchell Elementary School is a part of Regional School District 14 and is located in Woodbury, Conn.
