Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers is Denver's oldest and largest provider of subsidized quality early childhood care and education - serving thousands of Denver's most vulnerable children every year since 1970.
Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers operates six early learning centers and two drop-in facilities. A Montessori inspired educational approach is used throughout the program. Montessori fosters inner security, a sense of order, curiosity, decision- making ability, a positive attitude toward school, and a sense of responsibility to other members of the class, school and community.
Mile High Montessori is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors, receives support and counsel from a 50 member Community Leadership Board, and employs over 100 talented and dedicated staff. Our programs include;

Mile High Montessori's experience with the Montessori approach over the years has evolved in concert with its understanding of why the Montessori approach works with low income children and their families and what about the approach needs to be enhanced.
Often times when people think of Montessori, they think in terms of a structured curriculum and specific sets of materials that are essential if one is to be a "real" Montessori center. Mile High Montessori thinks rather in terms of an approach that is inspired by the principles of Maria Montessori but adjusted to meet the needs of the specific population it serves. The goals of a Montessori approach are to provide an education that allows the child to grow at his/her own pace successfully and in a beautifully well prepared environment.
