Metro East is a church seeking to be centered around, and consumed with, the Good News of Jesus Christ. All people are looking to be fulfilled and satisfied in some way, whether in money, power, popularity, or pleasure. To do this they must ascribe ultimate value and worth to the thing or person they are looking to for satisfaction. Countless people have discovered however, that the things of this world aren't able to fully satisfy the longings of their heart. We are convinced that Jesus Christ, by dying in our place, and rising from death, offers us something incomparable to anything in this world. He makes us right in the sight of God, cleanses us from our sins, reconsiles us with others, and provides us with the joy and meaning our hearts long for. C S Lewis said, "Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ, and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in." We believe that by upholding and living this message, we can best love God, love people, and go to the world.
