Originally founded in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, McCoy's Furniture was established in 1946 by brothers Peter, Asa, and John McCoy. Operations were successful and in 1960, a second location was opened in Waynesboro, Virginia. Over the years McCoy's Furniture has continued to expand their 100 East Broad Street location in Waynesboro ; today it remains the flagship site of the company. Peter A. McCoy, Jr. entered the business in 1975 and purchased McCoy's Furniture in 1991 to round out a successful chain of waterbed stores reaching Staunton, Front Royal, and in between. Ashley McCoy, Pete Jr.'s daughter, entered the family business in 2000 and renovations to the Waynesboro location continued ; a major facade improvement to the stores exterior, interior showroom enhancements and the addition of a Loft space upstairs. Today, McCoy's Furniture in Waynesboro is one of the few family-owned and operated, independent furniture stores left in Virginia. Our philosophy has not changed over the last half century. Peter McCoy, Sr. and wife Elouise, owners and operators, with long-time employee, Bunny Beard. 1962. We take care of our customers from the time they walk in our front door until the delivery truck drives away. We pride ourselves on customer service and love our repeat clientele. Some of our customers have shopped us for generations.
