In operation for more than 10 years, the MAP Academy is one of the leading alternative schools in Tennessee. The academy serves over 90 students with special needs in grades 5 through 12. It conducts classes in a variety of subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies. The MAP Academy features a computer lab, as well as provides guidance counseling services. The academy also offers courses that focus on decision-making and life skills. In addition, it provides special education programs for students with disabilities. The MAP Academy administers e4TN, WhyTry and 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens programs. The academy is governed by Wilson County Schools.
