LuVel was charted July 10, 1919, as the Kosciusko Creamery. The company operates a dairy manufacturing facility that produces a full-line of milk items as well as ice cream and other frozen desert products. In 1930, the creamery's owner, Mr. Z. O. Graham, held a contest to give the company a new name. The name chosen was a combination of names from Mr. Graham's daughter, Lucinda, and his wife, Velma, hence the name LuVel. The company operates more than 100 routes and distributors in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas and Tennessee. LuVel places a strong emphasis on community support and service by assisting schools and universities, churches, civic clubs and communities. LuVel is headquartered in Kosciusko, Miss.
